About Ano?
Ano? is a Filipino/Tagalog language learning app that prioritizes fostering connection and belonging among those who have lost touch with their Filipino heritage. Designed to cater to the the diverse learning goals and engagement levels of our users, Ano? empowers learners with the flexibility to concentrate on their chosen area of Tagalog language study while also learning about Filipino history and culture through its lessons.
Inspired from my own experience as a Filipino-American navigating language barriers, I wanted create a platform based on healing, growth, and reconnection with our Filipino roots through Filipino language.

Although the main component of my thesis was language-focused, I wanted to incorporate an additional element that shows the physical spaces around Philippines, a visual map that can inspire others to explore the Philippines’ hidden gems. Around this map are a few historical sites that carry deep emotional and cultural significance within its respected province.
